Original Theme Song MV

Original Theme Song MV! | Happy Birthday, Komi =)
Doce Fim's original theme song MV is now out on YouTube! And today also happens to be a very special birthday...

Doce Fim's original theme song MV is now out on YouTube! Huge thanks to KaguP for the music production and Angel Haven Ray — the voice of Komi — for the vocals.

There's something surreal about having achieved a childhood dream: creating an opening theme for my own game, and having the character's voice actress be the one to sing it.

This project keeps delivering miracles. Frontpage features, full funding, and now this. There have been disappointments along the way, but moments like this make it all worth it.

The cover art was designed by Kay! It features Komi surrounded by shooting stars, each one representing the other characters, with her hands extended toward the viewer. I love it so much.

Happy Birthday, Komi! 🎂

Today is also Komi's birthday... she's turning 10 (well... sort of). There's commissioned birthday art and some creative writing to celebrate. She deserves it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this game and made moments like this possible. 💛

We're funded

We're funded.
Actual insanity. Almost exactly one year after I revealed Doce Fim to the public to fund the first demo.

Actual insanity. Almost exactly one year after I revealed Doce Fim to the public to fund the first demo.

I lack the words to express my thankfulness and how blessed I feel to be able to bring my dream to life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm in contact with our CG artist who's getting started on the CGs for Rikka's route as we speak. The plan is to go Rikka → True Route → Lion → Luz (due to some possible changes to her route that I need time to figure out…)

For transparency, from now on income from Patreon, Ko-fi, itch.io donations and sales, etc, will go to paying myself for writing the 340k words this behemoth contains and for whatever small 'dream' improvements I could make to the game as development continues (for example, more original BGs, or getting Lake voiced…?)

Being realistic, however, do not expect things like full voice acting, console releases, or huge marketing campaigns. Those ships sailed when I was unable to find a publisher. We'll work with what we have to make Doce Fim!

The monthly support Patreon provides was a gigantic help in getting through this goal. I will continue to share exclusive updates and content there as the game is developed.

Targeting a late 2026 or early 2027 release! And there are some surprises planned for May 15th to celebrate. 🎉

Demo 2.0
March 21, 2026
DEMO 2.0 RELEASED! MAJOR CONTENT UPDATE!
THE MAJOR, MASSIVE 2.0 UPDATE IS HERE!!! Been a long while, but it's ready, with over 30,000 words of restored content and 10 hours of gameplay.

THE MAJOR, MASSIVE 2.0 UPDATE IS HERE!!! Been a long while, but it's ready!

What's new

Restored over 30,000 words of cut content — scenes that were trimmed to keep the original demo smaller, now back where they belong. That includes restored diner scenes, expanded slice-of-life moments with Syun and Noel, the introduction to Syun's cat colony, new nightmare sequences, motorcycle scenes, more side character interactions, and a student party scene.

The demo is now 10 freakin' hours long, with no more 'condensed content' warnings. The game is 100k words long, totalling ~30% of the full game's total word count. Yup — I'm giving away 30% of the game for free.

Art & Voice

4 new character graphics, Kie's sprite, enhanced route-specific graphics, and Lake's sprite during phone calls. Voice acting expanded with Kie recast (welcome, Kumo!), 20 new character barks, and 9–20 new voiced lines for key scenes.

Audio

Dozens of new tracks added, including original compositions by IKUSEN ("Soliloquy"), Animeida, and Onegaidol-P ("Torment" and "Endless Nightmare").

Performance

The game is now under 500MB. All hail WebPs!

LOVE AND PEACE ON PLANET EARTH!!!

Mental Health, Autism, and Living with Mental Illness in Doce Fim
My entire dev career has been characterized by my vulnerability and openness about my struggles with mental health.

Content note: this post discusses mental health, paranoia, anxiety, and bullying.

My entire dev career has been characterized by my vulnerability and openness about my struggles with mental health.

Lion's Route

Lion is autistic. He explicitly says this early on during his route in the full version of the game. While outlining Doce Fim in early 2022, I was studying Autism Spectrum Disorder during my internship, and started noticing uncomfortable parallels with myself. When I brought it up with autistic friends, the response was "so you finally noticed?" and "it's pretty obvious."

Writing Lion helped me process that. I asked the artist, Kay, to draw him in comfortable, baggy clothes without denim or belts. In early 2025, I asked for noise-cancelling headphones as an optional accessory, so his sprite changes when he's in noisy environments.

I've always had sensitivity to loud noises... to the point of anxiety attacks, sobbing, and even physical pain. Yet, ear protection of any kind was never offered as an option for me.

Masking — social camouflaging — plays a significant part in Lion's route. I won't spoil the details. Autism presents differently across the spectrum, and I hope Lion brings some comfort to underdiagnosed adult players.

Luz's Route and Paranoia

Growing up anxious and paranoid, I was constantly told my interpretations were wrong. This inspired the Paranoia Bubbles — visual elements that cover up the sprites' faces to show that Syun cannot perceive reality clearly due to overwhelming thoughts.

90% of the time, Syun's paranoia is wrong... But listen. Sometimes. Sometimes! Sometimes the gut feeling is right.

Being called "sick" for so long that I can no longer tell when my feelings and suspicions are healthy or a symptom. Syun's dialogue reflects this: "I don't know what is wrong with me. I just know that it is wrong."

Syun and Luz

In other routes, paranoia bubbles decrease as trust and communication improve. Luz's route keeps them — and contains the heaviest content in the game.

It Doesn't End with a Cure

Nobody is going to be cured by the end of the story. Mental illness persists even in the True ending. Lion remains autistic. Syun remains mentally ill despite finding happiness and relationships.

You can be happy and have a life you're proud of if you're mentally ill. Relapses and regressions don't negate deserving your doce fim — your sweet ending.

You are still deserving of respect, kindness, and people who love you.
