About
I'm a queer Brazilian game developer by night, and a psychologist by day. I go by Meiri, but you can call me Mei. I've loved reading and videogames since I was a kid. My favorite game ever made is Rune Factory 4, and my first ever visual novel was Ace Attorney.
My game development adventures began in 2013 with a very silly RPG Maker game titled The Amazing and Epic Adventures of Raguna. I shared it with my friends and quickly got addicted to the process. Infamously, I was stuck on the same ambitious project, Apple Pie, for 7 years.
After letting go of that project, I began making games using Ren'Py. The passion I had for game development reignited in full force — especially with the success of my jam projects — and since 2020, I've released about 18 games!
Outside of game dev, I'm a licensed psychologist.
My Goals
- To create stories that reflect queer identities and experiences, emphasizing queer characters, themes, and storylines.
- To explore new game mechanics and experiment with different types of games.
- To incorporate player feedback in current and future projects, in the search for constant improvement — technologically and narratively.
- To foster a healthy, anti-crunch culture in game dev-adjacent spaces.
